Molecular hydrogen has become very popular and you can tell.
Just take a look on Google or Amazon and you will see many different portable hydrogen generators. Some of them are priced for as little as forty euros. And for an extra hundred euros you can get one that promises to produce the highest number of ppm (parts per million) hydrogen on the market.
That may sound like an attractive way to support your health, but it is crucial to do good research, because it's the cheaply produced devices in this product category that can pose a risk to your health.
Technology of a molecular hydrogen device
There is a lot involved in producing a high-quality hydrogen generator.
Before you decide to purchase a hydrogen product, it is important to have at least a basic understanding of the technology, the importance of good material selection and the hydrogen production process.
These are two of the most important things to pay attention to:
Electrolysis process
Electrolysis is the process used to produce molecular hydrogen water. It involves breaking down water into its elementary components hydrogen gas and oxygen gas using electric current. Electrolysis is a messy process, because in addition to the formation of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas, the production leads to unwanted by-products such as chlorine and ozone. To ensure a clean, safe and effective process and to guarantee the production of pure hydrogen-rich water without the presence of unwanted by-products, the use of high-quality electrodes and membranes together with the correct voltage are extremely important. In this video you can see how the LumiVitae bottle and another hydrogen bottle are tested for harmful substances released during the production process.
In addition, it is also important that the pH (acidity) of the water remains unchanged during the electrolysis process.
Hydrogen retention
Molecular hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the world, a light gas and evaporates very quickly. It requires a lot of knowledge to develop a hydrogen technology that, in addition to producing the right ratio of bioavailable hydrogen, is able to retain it long enough so that its consumption is actually effective.
In this video the inventor of the CellPower and therapist Nuno Nina discusses these points and more in detail.
IHSA certificate for hydrogen generators
To ensure that there is an international quality standard so that you can be assured that the hydrogen water that you drink is not only safe, but actually produces the hydrogen that it promises, the International Hydrogen Standards Association certifies the products that meet their strict requirements. Currently, only about 5% of all hydrogen generators on the market have this certificate. LumiVitae's CellPower is IHSA certified. This is how you know that you have the best quality in your hands. Below you can see what an IHSA certificate for hydrogen products looks like.
